Accepting these terms
By using E'Jemput — whether editing a card, paying for one, or opening a card shared with you — you agree to the terms on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use this service.
These terms are an agreement between you and the company named at the foot of this page.
What we provide
E'Jemput is a service for creating digital invitation cards shared through a link. Each card includes an invitation page, an RSVP form, a space for guests' wishes, and a dashboard where you can see the replies.
The service is sold as one payment for one event. It is not a subscription. There are no recurring payments, and nothing will be charged to you after the first purchase unless you yourself choose to upgrade.
Definitions
- Customer
- The person who pays for a card and owns the account for that card.
- Guest
- Anyone who opens a card's link, replies to the RSVP, or writes a wish. Guests have no account.
- Card
- One digital invitation, with one public link, for one event.
- Draft
- A card that has not been paid for. A draft can be edited by anyone who has its editor link, and it has no public link.
Your account
You do not need to register to begin. You edit the card first, and an account is opened automatically when your payment is confirmed, using the email address you gave at payment.
We send a temporary password to that address. You are required to change it the first time you log in. Please make sure the email address you enter is correct — if it is wrong, the password will go to someone else and you will need to contact us to correct it.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect your account has been accessed without permission.
Your account has a time limit. It is deactivated 5 days after your event, and after that you can no longer log in. This is intentional — one payment buys one event, not a permanent account. The day before, we send your guest list and wishes by email, so you lose nothing. The full details are in the "Card lifecycle" section below.
Packages and prices
- Basic — RM89
- A complete card using the template design you choose. You edit all the words, photos and event details; the visual design stays as the template.
- Premium — RM129
- Everything in Basic, and the card owns its own design — the colours, fonts, frames and cover can be changed, and sections can be shown or hidden.
Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and include any applicable tax. The price that applies is the price shown on the payment screen when you pay; price changes after that do not affect a card already bought.
Promotions. From time to time we run promotions — either a promotional price for everyone for a set period, or a promo code entered on the payment screen. Only one promotion applies to each purchase and they cannot be combined; if more than one qualifies, the one giving the largest discount is used. Promotions do not apply to upgrades. A promo code that has expired, reached its usage limit or does not apply to your package is refused before payment, not after it.
You may upgrade from Basic to Premium at any time before the event takes place, by paying the price difference between the two packages. There is no downgrade, and the price difference is not returned.
Payment
Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway. We do not receive or keep your credit card number or banking details.
Your card becomes active and its public link goes live when the payment is confirmed by that gateway — not at the moment you press the pay button. If a payment fails or is abandoned, your card stays a draft and nothing is charged.
An invoice is issued for every successful payment and can be reached from your dashboard and from the receipt email.
Refunds
In short: there are no refunds once a card has been generated, because a digital product is delivered instantly. There are a few exceptions. All of them are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Your content
Everything you put into your card — words, photos, QR codes — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
By placing it on the card, you give us a limited permission to store, process and display it to anyone who opens your card's link. This permission exists solely to run the service and ends when the content is removed.
You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload — especially photos. Do not use a photographer's photos without their permission.
What is not allowed
You may not use E'Jemput for:
- Anything that is against Malaysian law.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Content that is obscene, threatening, defamatory, or that incites hatred.
- Impersonating someone else, or publishing a person's personal details without their permission.
- Fraud — including collecting contributions in the name of an event that does not exist.
- Attempts to disrupt, break into, or excessively burden our systems.
We may remove content or suspend a card that breaches the above, without a refund. If it is clearly a mistake, contact us and we will review it.
Card lifecycle
A card passes through fixed stages, and it is important that you know them before sending the link to your guests:
- Before payment
- The card is a draft. Anyone who has the editor link can edit it. A draft not edited or paid for within 24 hours is deleted together with its photos.
- After payment
- The card belongs to your account and its public link goes live. The old editor link stops working. You can keep editing the card through your account.
- The day after the event
- The public link closes. Guests who open it see a thank-you page with the names on the card and the date, without the venue's address.
- 4 days after the event
- We send an email carrying your guest list and wishes as Excel files, and tell you that the account will close the next day.
- 5 days after the event
- The card closes and your account is deactivated — you can no longer log in. This is part of how the service is designed: one payment buys one event, not a permanent account. If you need anything from the card after this date, contact us.
If you come back for another event and pay again using the same email address, your account is reactivated automatically.
Your card's link cannot be changed after payment. It is generated from the main names on the card at the moment the payment is confirmed, and stays that way — because changing it would mean every guest who has already received the link gets a page that cannot be found. Check your names before paying.
Guest replies
RSVP replies and wishes are sent by your guests, not by us, and we do not screen them beforehand. You can hide or delete any wish from your dashboard.
The guest information you collect is your responsibility. See the Privacy Policy for more, including how long that information is kept.
Service availability
We work to keep this service available at all times, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Maintenance, a hosting provider's failure, or network problems may make a card impossible to open for a while.
We recommend that you download your guest list regularly, and do not rely on this card as the only copy of your event's information.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you in connection with this service is limited to the amount you paid for the card in question.
We are not responsible for indirect losses — including but not limited to guests who did not attend because the link could not be opened, loss of data because you did not download the guest list within the stated period, or errors in content you entered yourself.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 where it applies to you.
Termination
Accounts are deactivated automatically 5 days after the event, as described above. That is the normal end of an account, not a penalty, and nothing needs to be done by you.
You may also stop earlier and ask for your account to be closed by contacting us. Closing an account does not entitle you to a refund, and payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires us to, or if your account is used in a way that endangers other users or our systems.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms when the service changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. For significant changes, we will let customers know by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
